February in Review


Dear Members,

After a great Carnival season, we are back on track and as usual had a full house during the month of February.

Update on Projects:
• As part of the refurbishing projects, all the king-sized mattresses have been placed in all the rooms.
• Installation of cables in the new transformer room is still in progress.

Internet Services in the Public Area:
In addition to the Internet service in the Business Centre and WiFi service in the rooms for laptops, now we also have a self-service Internet Kiosk (desk) close to the Coffee & Tea Station. It accepts both credit cards and cash (exact change) and is available 24 hours a day. Plans are to have similar set-up at the Ambassador Wing shortly.

Carnival Celebration:
Our employees had the opportunity to showcase their creativity during a Carnival celebration we had recently and boy they are creative. For Bea in the Business Center who was our Carnival Queen for 2009, it was a very sad day since she had to hand over her crown to the new Queen which honor went to Etleen Tromp of the Accounting Department. Among other participants were Karina Petrochi from the Reservations Department, Ada Antersijn from the Front Office and Velma from the Housekeeping Department. Prince Nigel of the Pool Department and Pancho Emilio entertained the crowd with some funny jokes while the judges were counting the scores. I must say that they did not have an easy job but hey……. we had so much fun and Carnival is only once a year.

Official Holiday:
Please note that Thursday, March 18, 2009 (Anthem and Flag Day) is an official holiday on the island and as a result of this most businesses will be closed.

Interval International Award:
We are pleased to announce that Casa del Mar Beach Resort has qualified as a 2010 Interval International Select Resort. This distinction identifies our property as exceeding our already high affiliation standards and delivering great vacation experiences. Our congratulations go to our staff on this important achievement.





Board Meetings:
Management and the Board of Directors will meet during week 9 and in addition to the Capital Projects - some operational projects will be presented for review and approval. We will update you of the developments in the next Review.

Thank You to Members and Guests:
A special thank you goes to the Members and Guests of week 8 for their patience and understanding while we had difficulties with the Chiller (main Air Conditioning System) of Phase I. The situation was back to normal after two days of hard work. Thanks guys. We really appreciate your understanding.
